Portable Interactive 3D Virtual Reality Training System Project

In this DoD-funded project (STTR grant, Phase I), the 3D Group was associated with PURVIS Systems, Inc., from Middletown, RI, and Ocean State Technology Corp., from Providence RI. Our objective was to investigate and develop proof-of-concept technology for a virtual reality-based system for training submarine crews. The 3DG was in charge of the development of the computer vision and computer graphics (interface and visualization) modules of the augmented reality and virtual reality system.
